6.4.2 Setting the current rip alarm
The current rip alarm warns you when the present temperature is higher (or lower) than the last
sampled reference by more than the one you have set. Current rips, caused along sea stream
and currents or at their junction, often gather dense fish shoals. For the current rip alarm minus
value cannot be entered.
1. Press [MENU], [5], [1] to display the Alarm menu, and select Page 1.
2. Set Current Rip to Yes.
3. Press

, enter temperature desired and press the [ENT] key.
4. Press the [MENU] key several times to close the menu.
When the setting value is violated for more than one minute the audio and visual alarms are
released.
6.4.3 Canceling the water temperature alarm, current rip alarm
Select Off (or No in case of Current Rip) in respective field on the Alarm menu.
6.5 Depth Alarm
The depth alarm alerts the operator when the present depth is deeper (or shallower) than the
preset depth. In waters where the depth is know to rise or fall suddenly without warning it may be
a good idea to set the depth alarm 10 (or even 20) feet below your ship's draft to warn of
impending danger. This function requires depth data.
6.5.1 Setting the depth alarm
1. Press [MENU], [5], [1] to display the Alarm menu, and select Page 1.
2. Select In RNG or Out RNG from the Depth field as appropriate.
3. Press

, enter depth range in five digits in the Depth Alarm field, and press the [ENT] key.
4. Press the [MENU] key several times to close the menu.
6.5.2 Canceling the depth alarm
When the depth alarm sounds, press the [CLR] key to silence the audio alarm. To cancel the
alarm, set Depth on the Alarm menu to off.
