Structure of Pulse Width Count Timer
This section describes the pins, pin block diagram, registers, and interrupt source of
the pulse width count timer.

Pulse Width Count Timer Pins
The pulse width count timer uses the P35/PWC and P36/WTO pins. These pins can function
either as general-purpose I/O ports (P35 and P36), as the measured pulse input (PWC), or as
the output (WTO) of the timer output bit (PCR2: TO).
PWC: The pulse width measurement function measures the pulse widths input to this pin.
Set the pin as an input port in the port data direction register (DDR3: bit 5 = “0”) when
using as the PWC pin for the pulse width measurement function.
WTO: When the interval timer function is selected, the output level of this pin is inverted
when the counter value underflows (01
H
→
00
H
). In reload timer mode, this pin outputs
a square wave. Setting the P36/WTO pin as a dedicated pin in the output pin control
bit (PCR1: TOE = “1”) automatically sets the pin as an output pin, regardless of the
port data direction register (DDR3: bit 6) value, and sets the pin to function as the
WTO pin.
