IEEE 802.1x Authentication
This feature is not supported on the model sold in China.
Enabling IEEE 802.1x authentication allows you to connect your printer to a network
secured by IEEE 802.1x authentication.
IEEE 802.1x authentication is a suite of protocols that provide authentication using EAP
(Extended authentication protocol) and access control.
This feature allows you to prevent and detect of unauthorized access and spoofing.
To Enable IEEE 802.1x Authentication
Follow the procedure described below to configure various settings required to enable IEEE
802.1x on CentreWare Internet Services. For more information, refer to the online help of
CentreWare Internet Services.
1.
Launch your web browser and access CentreWare Internet Services.
Note
• For information on how to access CentreWare Internet Services, refer to "Configuring the Printer Using
CentreWare Internet Services" (P. 29).
2.
Click the [Properties] tab.

From the menu displayed on the left, click [802.1x] under [Security].
The [802.1x] page is displayed.
4.
For [Enable IEEE 802.1x], select the check box [Enabled].
5.
For [Authentication Method], select an Authentication Method.
6.
For [Login Name:(Device Name)], enter the login name (device name).
7.
For [Password], enter the password, and for [Re-enter Password], re-enter the same
password for verification.
