4.4 DETECTORS INSTALLATION
4.4.1 IR30WL INFRARED PASSIVE DETECTOR
4.4.1.1 SELECTING THE FIELD COVERED
The IR30WL infrared passive Detectors are equipped with a three functional lens which enables the selection of
three different fields of coverage: volume coverage, curtain coverage, and long haul coverage.
WIDE ANGLE coverage
CURTAIN coverage
LONG RANGE coverage
The most suitable uses for these three types of coverage are as follows:
Wide Angle
: for big spaces, where the Detector is usually positioned in a corner (pre-set configuration).
Curtain coverage
: to protect a wall containing windows or objects to be defended. The detector must be
positioned so that its scanning area is parallel to the wall and not far from it.
Long range
: for long corridors, with the detector
positioned on a wall at the end of the corridor for a “trap protection”.
Warning
: when the detector is active, do not touch the pyroelectric detector.
The detector outputs from the factory pre-set for volume protection. To select a covered field different from the
volume one, do as follows:
1. Remove the detector cover by unscrewing the closing screw, if present, and press the fixing cog.
2. Unhook the lens by pressing on the A cogs and extract it.
3. Choose the covered field using as a reference the notches situated on the side of the lens: no notches = wide
angle protection, 1 notch = curtain protection, 2 notches = long range protection.
