Load (electrical)
Maximum power of a device to be connected to the auxiliary output of the control panel.
Communicator
Telephone communicator able to send and transfer signalling and alarm events through a telephone line.
Furthermore, it makes it possible to interact with the system using a remote control using the telephone line.
Setting
Modification of the physical structure of a device or configuration of its parameters in order to adapt it to the use it is
designed for.
Crack
Cracking of the security codes through their identification and recognition.
Creep zone
Literally “crawling area”; this is the area situated immediately under an infrared detector.
dB
Abbreviation for decibel, logarithmic measurement unit for a sound or for an electrical power in comparison to a
reference value.

Acronym for Dua

Event

Acronym for Global System for Mobile. This refers to an international standardized system for mobile digital

Interface
This is a device which enables the connection and the interaction between devices with different technological
characteristics or the use of different means of transmission
Jamming
Interference, often a voluntary one, intended to prevent radio transmissions.
Memory Card
Card which records data (ex. save programmations in the control panel
, or programming an “empty” control panel).
Playback
Reproduction of codes which have been recently registered with the intention of violating a security system.
Preset
Initial status or value of a device before it is set or when it is set back to factory values.
Protocol
Group of rules which regulates the exchange or the transmission of electronic data among devices.
Polarization
The orientation of the signal field lines in radio communications.
PSTN
Acronym for Public Switched Telephone Network. This refers to the fix telephone network.
Random
Random Production of a variable data, usually a number.
SIM Card
Card which identifies the subscriber of a mobile telephone service and which must be inserted in the mobile phone
or similar devices.
Tamper
Micro contact which protects a device from tampering.
Wireless
Literally “without wire”, these are the systems or devices which do not require wires for their
working.
