The following conditions are required to use packet communication, 64K data
communication or video-phone communication with the FOMA terminal:
•
Within the FOMA service area.
• The access point supports FOMA.
You may not be able to conduct data communications in the following cases:
• The base station is congested.
• Radio wave conditions are poor.
•
The power supply from the PC to the FOMA terminal is unstable.

To communicate with the FOMA terminal:
Video-phone Communication
The video-phone communication can be used only when both terminals support DoCoMo
video-phone function. DoCoMo video-phones conform to “3G-324M ※ 1 , the international 3GPP ※ 2
standard”. If the other party’s video-phone operates on a different system, the video-phone function
is disabled.
※ 1 3G-324M: International standards for the third generation of video-phones.
※ 2 3GPP (Third-Generation Partnership Project): A regional standards organization for establishing the development of
common technological specifications associated with third-generation mobile telecommunication systems (IMT-2000).
Software and equipment that support video-phone are required to use video-phone communication.
Refer to the manuals of software and equipment that support video-phone for details.

The communication charges are digital communication charges.

● You can use the “DoCoMo video-phone software 2005” as an application that supports this
function. Download the application from the supplied CD-ROM or the DoCoMo video-phone
software support web site.

● It will not be possible to establish a connection if you call a telephone that does not support
the DoCoMo video-phone, or if you call a video-phone that supports DoCoMo video-phone
but is outside the service area or has its power off.
● The same communication charges will apply whether your communication speed is 64 kbps
or 32 kbps.
