Precautions
General Precautions for the FOMA Terminal and UIM
Do not disassemble, modify or solder the FOMA terminal or UIM.
Accidents such as fire, injury, electric shock, or malfunction may result.
Do not use or leave the FOMA terminal or UIM near the fire or heater, in places where
it is exposed to direct sunlight, or in extremely high temperatures such as inside a car
in the summer heat.
Otherwise, the devices may deform or malfunction. Also, part of the case might be heated, causing bare skin
burns.
Do not let the FOMA terminal or UIM get wet.
If liquids such as water or pet urine get onto them, overheating, electric shock, fire, malfunction, injuries or
others may result. Pay attention to the place of use and the way of handling.

to emit an odor, overheat, discolor,
deform, etc., while being used, pull
out the FOMA terminal from the PC
card slot immediately.
If you use devices with these symptoms not
handled, they may overheat, burst, or catch

UIM in microwave ovens or high-
pressure containers.
The FOMA terminal or UIM may overheat,
smoke, or catch fire, or its circuit parts may
burst.
Do not throw the equipment or
subject it to severe shocks.
Fire or damage to equipment may result.
Do not use near places such as gas
stations where there is danger of
fire or explosion.
If used in dusty places or where there are
flammable gases such as propane or
gasoline, explosions or fire may result.
Be careful not to let
electroconductive materials (metal
pieces, pencil leads, etc.) contact
with the external connecting
terminals. Also, make sure that
those are not entered into the inside
of the FOMA terminal.
Short-circuit could cause catching fire or
malfunction.
