Specify the number of IS-IS hello packets a neighbor must miss before the router declares the
adjacency down.
Syntax isis hello-multiplier multiplier

To return to the default values, enter
no isis hello-multiplier

The holdtime (the product of the hello-multiplier multiplied by the hello-interval) determines how long
a neighbor waits for a hello packet before declaring the neighbor is down so routes can be
recalculated.I

Hello PDUs are “padded” only when both the global and interface padding options are ON. Turning
either one OFF will disable padding for the corresponding interface(s).

Never configure a hello-multiplier lower then the default (3).
Range: 3 to 1000
