Gain Offset for Redundant Operations
Once you enable redundancy operation, you must use the
Ofst
(Gain Offset)
command to define the gain offset compensation in order to match gain
between the two converters.
Gain Offset is configured at installation and initial setup only. You should
use the normal attenuation functions during normal operations.
To set the Gain Offset parameters for redundant operation, do these steps:
1.
Monitor the output signal level on power meter / spectrum analyzer.
2.
Enable Redundancy on the converter
(SELECT:CONFIG
REDUND
STATE=Enable).
3.
Put the converter into “Manual” Redundancy Mode
(SELECT:CONFIG
REDUND
MODE=Manual).
4.
Force Converter B online
(SELECT:CONFIG
REDUND
FrcBkup=YES).
Then, measure the output.
5.
Force Converter A online (
SELECT: CONFIG
REDUND
FrcBkup=YES).
Then, adjust the Gain Offset. Using the
SELECT: CONFIG
Conv-A
ATTEN/SLOPE
submenu:
CONFIG CnvA Ofst=+0.0dB
Atten=20.00dB Slope=0.0
a.
Use the

Ofst=
) digit to
edit, and then use the
