INSTALL ROOF PANELS: OVERVIEW
This procedure describes installing the polycarbonate roof
panels
before
the polycarbonate end panels. Depending on
construction experience, end panels could be installed first.
Consult the Main Cover Details diagram in the Quick Start
section for additional information.
Read the following before you install the roof panels:
• Do not install panels on a windy or stormy day.
• Use assistants and the proper lifts when setting the
panels in place.
• Do not climb on the panels during installation or at any
other time.
• Install the UV-protected surface toward the sun.
• Space Tek screws at 24" intervals to secure panels to
the hat channel.
• If installing the roof panels first, allow the panels at
each end to extend slightly past the end rafter no more
than 1/2" maximum. End panels can then be cut and
installed so they are overlapped by the lip of the roof
panel. Flashing is installed to cover the joint.
Components needed:
• Polycarbonate panels (6' x 8')
• Aluminum end cap (#104548)
• H-Channel and ridge cap (#CG96174)
• Neo-bonded washers (#102921)
• Tek screws (#FA4484B) and vent tape
ATTENTION:
DO NOT store or allow the polycarbonate
roof panels to remain in direct sunlight for an extended
period of time. Damage to the panels can occur.
In addition, the protective film, which must be removed
prior to installation, may become difficult if not impossible to
remove.
For clarity, the following diagrams show the main frame
without end framing.
Roof Panel Installation Method
To create a better seal between the roof panels, install the
upper roof panel so that it overlaps the top edge of the
lower roof panel. This procedure is presented in the steps
that follow.

channel that the gutter rail clips into, begin to secure
the film into the gutter.

inches) of film extends below the gutter rail channel
and into the gutter. The gutter film must remain even as
it is secured in place.
7. Once the first edge of the gutter film is locked in the
gutter, locate the remaining edge of the film. This is the
edge of the film that will be attached to the lower hat
channel of the greenhouse bay.
8. With assistance, evenly pull the remaining edge of the
film over the lower hat channel and secure it in place
to the back of the channel using Tek screws and neo-
bonded washers. Fold the film to create a layered edge
and drive the screws through the layers and into the
hat channel to better hold the film in place.
ATTENTION:
Do not install any screws along the top
of the hat channel. Polycarbonate roof panels are
installed on the top of the hat channel later in these
instructions.
To prevent film damage, do not allow the film to catch
on any component of the assembled frame when
pulling into place. After installing the roof panels, film
can be trimmed as desired.
9. Repeat steps for the remaining side of the gutter and
adjacent bays.
6. Continue to work
toward the end
(or ends) of the
greenhouse bay.
NOTE:
As the film
is secured to the
gutter, verify that
it remains even
