APPLY SILICONE SEALANT
In addition to the installation of the flashing and overlapping
the individual polycarbonate panels, applying silicone
sealant at different joints and seams throughout the
greenhouse can help seal the structure. The application of
silicone is left to the discretion of the owner or contractor
and is typically completed when a tighter seal between
components is desired.
Though a complete air and water-tight seal is not possible,
taking the following steps will help maintain a more stable
interior environment.
NOTE:
The amount of silicone used to seal the greenhouse
varies with the size of the applied bead. Additional silicone
can be purchased by calling your sales representative if
needed.
1. Return to each roof panel and side panel seam and fill
each gap with silicone to prevent air and water from
entering the greenhouse. See the circle and arrow in
the photo that follows.

2. Locate any gaps or holes created during the panel
installation and seal with silicone.
3. Return to any joints where profile sections meet and
seal with silicone. Greenhouse shown below may differ
from actual greenhouse.
4. Move to the inside and apply silicone where the end
panels meet the installed roof and side panels if this
was not completed before the flashing installation.

silicone along the upper edge
where end panels meet roof and

5. Inspect the remainder of the assembled greenhouse
and apply silicone in those areas where additional
sealing is desired.
6. Using tin snips and a small section of flashing, cut a
piece to cap the open ends of the ridge cap and secure
in place using silicone or Tek screws. See dashed lines
for location.
