Inlet Conveyor Belt Replacement
Each set of inlet conveyor belts will stretch and
wear over time. Belt stretching is automatically
compensated for by spring loaded tension arms
(Figure 7-3).
Replace the belts when the pins have worn or
when they sag.
NOTE: Before replacing a
sagging belt, check to make sure
the tension spring has not been
compressed.
Mechanical movement and vibration can cause
the adjusting nut to compress the belt tensioning
spring. Before replacing a sagging belt, check the
position of the adjusting nut.
If belt sagging is corrected because the nut
must be moved and the belt/pin is otherwise
sound, replacement will not be necessary.
Required Tools
15/16” wrench, pliers
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power off at the main disconnect
switch.
Locate the adjustment nuts at the center
of the arm under the belt (Figure 7-3).
Tighten the nuts to increase the tension
on the spring until the belt can be moved
by hand.
WARNING
Never start the unit while
installing the inlet conveyor
belts. It is dangerous
and unnecessary.
Pull the belt around until the lacing clips
are accessible.
Remove the connecting pin and attach the
new belt with the pin.
Pull the old belt through until the new belt
is in place.
Disconnect the old belt and secure the
replacement belt with a new pin.
Loosen the nut holding the tension on the
spring until there is a 1/4” gap between
the tensioning nuts and the fixed retain-
ing plate (Figure 7-4) to allow proper belt
movement during operation.
Repeat Steps 2 to 7 for the other belt if
necessary.
