Pull the old belt around the far roller until

both ends of the new belt are in position

to be connected.

While one worker compresses the roller

arm, have the other secure the replacement

belt with a new pin.

Release tension on the roller arm.

Reject Conveyor Drive Belt Tension

Adjustment

Over time, the reject conveyor’s power twist

drive belt will stretch due to normal wear and

tear. Tension on the belt must be adjusted if it is

noticeably slack or if it begins to slip.

Required Tools

wrench, pliers

Perform only when the unit is OFF

with power disconnected.

Turn power OFF at the main disconnect

switch.

Locate the safety cover for the reject con-

veyor drive belt (Figure 7-52).

Remove the bolts which secure the cover

and set it aside.

Remove the reject conveyor drive belt

by slowly hand-turning the motor pulley

(Figure 7-53) and rolling the belt off.

Remove a link from the belt:

Use a pair of pliers to twist the tab of

one link until the tab can slide through

the hole in the next link.

Repeat this for the tab of the next link

so the ﬁrst link can be removed.

Reconnect the belt by pushing the unused

tab through the unused hole.

NOTE:

Additional belt links

can be removed if necessary to

properly tension the belt.

Roll the belt back into place.
