Jam Detection
If a piece of flatwork becomes jammed
in the machine, a flashing message on the
CHI display indicates where the jam is. For
more information, refer to the
OPERATING
GUIDELINES
chapter,
Daily Operating
Procedures
section,
Handling Jams and
Misfeeds Safely
procedure.
Safety Stop Buttons
Using any of the red safety STOP buttons
causes the unit to shut-down and reset. It also
causes an error message to display indicating the
location of the depressed button. Messages also
display for open panel doors, inverter faults and
other mechanical or safety problems.
Self-Diagnostics
The CHI system continuously monitors itself for
sensing and processing errors. If an error occurs, a
flashing diagnostic message appears on the display
indicating the problem and/or its location.
The problem should be addressed immediately.
If necessary, bring the problem to the attention of
maintenance or service personnel. The machine
may still be operational depending on the type of
error and where it happened.
WARNING
Keep clear of moving parts.
Never reach into a machine
when the power is on.
Serious injury could result.
