Format
The Format control specifies the format of
the document. Options found in the format
list include the (European) DIN A formats
and the US ANSI formats, (e.g. Letter or US
C). Some formats are specified with an
additional L(etter) or P(ortrait). Also
available are settings for Legal, 25 inch, 36
inch, Maximum, and User. In most cases
the setting Auto should be selected.
Start Page
The Start Page control defines the start
page if
Splitting
is activated. The available
settings are Left, or Right.
Rotation
The Rotation control specifies the rotation of
the image in a clockwise direction after
scanning. The available settings are: 90°;
180°; 270°; and OFF.
Mirror
The Mirror control activates the horizontal
mirroring of the image. It can be useful if
scanning a transparency or a blueprint from
the back side. The available settings are
Horizontal, and OFF.
Splitting
The Splitting control divides a single image
into two equal parts. This is useful when
scanning one physical item with two
separate images such as a newspaper page
that may contain two pages on one physical
sheet (see section 7.1.1.2 User Settings
Section –
Splitting Start Page
). The
available settings are:
•
Left - The image is taken from the left
side of the specified area
•
Right - The image is taken from the right
side of the specified area
•
Auto - The image taken toggles between
the two sides
The first side of the image to be viewed and
saved is referred to as the starting page and
is defined in the
Splitting Start Page
.

Tapping the
More
button on the Format Control 1 screen (
Figure 5.14
) displays the Format
Control 2 screen.
The Auto Margin, Auto Density and Auto Skew controls are set from the Format Control 2
screen.
