1 (figure 3.3.1), which is controlled by it, forward. Big gear ring of block 1 meshes with
driven gear of the 5

and 8

gears 28. By means of the formed engagement power flow
from primary shaft 34a transmits to GB intermediate shaft 32.
The calculated speeds of tractors “BELARUS-80.1/82.1/820” on all GB gears are
given in subsection 2.13 “Shifting of gears”.
3.3.3 Distinctive features of design and operation of mechanical gearbox with
gears and ranges shifting lever located in the center
Mechanical GB of tractors “BELARUS-80.1/82.1” with canopy frame or canopy base
on the basis of a small cabin, is equipped with the control cover with control lever located
in the center.
The control cover with GB control lever located in the center consists of cover 16
(figure 3.3.3) and GB control lever 8. Cover 16 is installed on the upper plane of GB hous-
ing 1 and is secured to it by bolts. GB control lever 8 is located in ball hinge 6, plate 7 of
which together with boot 10 is secured on the upper plane of cover 16 through pressure
ring 11 by bolts. When swinging GB control lever 8 in hinge 6, spherical tip of lever 8 will
always be either in the sliders slots of the shifter forks or in the “pocket” of the speed re-
duction unit carrier of fork housing 2. To eliminate excessive swing amplitudes of GB con-
trol lever 8, as well as for an accurate direction of its movement, limiting plate 17 is used,
which is attached to cover 16 by bolts.
To ensure that the tractor diesel engine can start only when the gears in the gear-
box are completely disengaged, the gearbox control cover contains a start blocking device.
The start blocking device consists of housing 12, swinging frame 4, enclosing GB
control lever 8, and start blocking switch 14, connected in circuit of electric diesel engine
start. Swinging frame 4 is installed in housing 12 and has a possibility of axial movement in
it. Housing 12 is secured on cover 16 by bolts. The sizes and shape of swinging frame 4
are such, that in the positions of GB control lever 8, corresponding to GB gears, spring 5
constantly presses swinging frame 4 to end face of housing 12. In this case ball of start
blocking switch 14 is located in circular groove of axis 13 of swinging frame 4 in pulled
state, in which contacts of start blocking switch 14, and consequently all electric circuit of
electric start of the engine, are open. Diesel engine start is blocked (not possible).
Shifting of GB control lever 8 in the position of the speed reduction unit ranges goes
along with compression of spring 5 and corresponding axial movement of swinging frame
4. In this case circular groove of axis 13 of swinging frame 4 shifts from under the ball of
start blocking switch 14, compressing it. Contacts of start blocking switch 14, and conse-
quently, all electric circuit of electric start of the engine, close and start of tractor diesel en-
gine is unblocked (possible).
Tractor diesel engine start with gear in GB not completely disengaged is safely ruled
out, because GB control lever 8 can be in the position of speed reduction unit ranges only with
gears in GB fully disengaged.
Adjustment of diesel engine start blocking switch 14 is ensured by installation of the
required quantity of shims 15. If adjustment by means of shims cannot be achieved, then it is
necessary to replace start blocking switch 14 and carry out adjustment again.
