ICS (Input Element Muting)
Muting of the monitoring of the digital inputs

Function:
Muting of the monitoring device of the digital inputs for correct impulses an
correct input function according to the configuration
Reset function:
not applicable
NOTICE:
This function influences the safety level of an application. It must be ensured that the use of this
function does not reduce the safety level in the complete operating range of the application!

Description of the function:
By the activation of these ICS elements all possible alarms of tne monitoring of the
digital inputs like:

Monitoring for correct impulses
are muted on the input lines according to the respective
configuration, and inputs like:
•
Monitoring of the correct function
are muted on the input lines of an input according to the
configuration.
If such an alarm status occirs, the system remains in the operating status.
By means of an adequate method, automatic monititoring of the digital inputs must be replaced in
the SPC programme by the use of the output status of this function block.
Detected alarms displayed with the prefix E and with the same refrence as under normal
circumstances.
