(3) Procedure
1. Attach a 20 dB fixed attenuator to the PPG1 Data Out connector.
(Refer to (a) in Figure 9.2.2-1.)
2. Connect coaxial terminators to the PPG1 Data Out and ED1
Data In connectors.
3. Connect the Sync Out and Trigger Clk In connectors using a
coaxial cable.

Connect the PPG1 Data Out and Ch A In connectors using a
coaxial cable.
5. Touch [PPG/ED Ch1]
→
[PPG].
Set the value as follows:
Amplitude: 500 mV
Bit Rate:
Variable, 11320000 kbit/s (Without the Option 092)
Variable, 12500000 kbit/s (With the Option 092)
Data/XData Out: On
Reference Clock: Internal
Offset: 100
ppm
Test Pattern: PRBS 2^31–1, Pos
6. In the Eye/Pulse Scope window, touch [CH A] to measure the
amplitude.
7. Adjust the PPG1 Amplitude so that the Eye/Pulse Scope
amplitude is 50±1 mV.
8. Touch [ED], and then set the value as follows:
Data Input condition: Single-Ended Data
Gating Cycle:
Single
Gating Period: 90 s
Test Pattern: PRBS 2^31–1, Pos
Threshold: 0 mV

Connect the PPG1 Data Out and ED1 Data In connectors using
a coaxial cable. (Refer to (b) in Figure 9.2.2-1.)
10. Touch [Start] at All Measurements.
11. Record the error rate ER for the ED Result after measurement is
complete.
12. Touch [PPG], and then set as follows.
Bit Rate: Variable1/64, 132813 kbit/s (Without the Option 092)
Variable, 125000 kbit/s (With the Option 092)
Offset: –100 ppm
13. Connect the PPG1 Data Out and Ch A In connectors using a
coaxial cable. (Refer to (a) in Figure 9.2.2-1.)
14. In the Eye/Pulse Scope window, touch [CH A] to measure the
amplitude.
