6.1 Function List
The bit error rate can be measured at the Error Detector (ED).
The ED has the following functions.

The setting voltage range varies depending on the value of the External
Attenuator Factor.
External ATT When inserting attenuator at connector, that attenuation is entered.
Test Pattern Selects PRBS or Programmable Pattern.
POS/NEG Sets the signal level of the Data connector responding to Pattern 1.
Programmable Pattern Selects the pattern file name to be used when Test Pattern is set to
Programmable Pattern. The file name selected is displayed.
Data Length Displays pattern length in bit units.
Auto SYNC Sets whether or not to execute resynchronization processing when pattern
sync lost
Threshold (Auto SYNC) When Auto SYNC is On, sets bit error rate judging pattern sync loss.
SYNC Control
When the pattern is Programmable Pattern, set the synchronization
method.
Frame Position At Programmable Pattern, sets bit string header position used in sync
frame.
ED Result Sets the method for displaying the bit error measurement results.
History Reset Deletes history of warning display.
Gating Cycle Sets single measurement, repeat measurement or continuous measurement.
Measurement Cycle Sets the measurement time.
Current Setting to [On] updates the results display while measurement is in
progress.
Setting to [Off] updates the results display after the measurement cycle has
elapsed.
Start/Stop Stops/starts bit error rate measurement.
