Chapter 19 EPON Profile Configuration
NetAtlas EPON Manager User’s Guide

Use this screen to configure traffic switching mode and the maximum number of
MAC addresses that can be learned for each link on an ONU. Once you have set
the profile settings, you can apply it to the ONU in the ONU Service Config
screens (refer to
).
Your OLT comes with a “Default” profile contains the settings that work in most
network environment.
When you create a profile having the same name as an existing profile, the
previous settings will be replaced in the existing profile.
To create a new profile, select the profile type and click Add... in the EPON
Profile Configuration screen.
Priority Copy Shared
VLAN
This mode has the same behavior as the Shared VLAN mode. In
this mode, the OLT can also use the priority copy function to
change the priority value in the VLAN tag or IP header according
to the predefined priority mapping table. See
for more information.
Transparent Shared
VLAN with Broadcast
This divides the PON interface
into multiple broadcast
domains. The links in this mode
and having the same VLAN tag
belong to the same broadcast
group. The OLT forwards a
upstream frame whether it has
a VLAN tag or not. The OLT also
learns the source MAC address
of the upstream frames.
The OLT forwards the
downstream frames to the
corresponding links based on
the destination address. If the
downstream frame's destination
address is not found in the MAC
table, the OLT broadcasts it to
any link in the broadcast group
and all other links that
broadcast.
