19.1.3 Configuring Link Bridging Profiles
When the OLT receives a frame from an ONU through a logical link, you can set
the OLT to forward the frame based on its destination MAC address and/or VLAN
tag.
The following table shows the traffic bridging types supported by the OLT.
Forwarding
Table
Select the outgoing port(s) (in the Forwarding Table) through which
traffic from the port is allowed to go.
To allow two ports to talk to each other, you must define the outgoing port
for both ports.

Simple Bridged
The OLT checks the destination
MAC addresses of the incoming
frames and make forwarding
decisions. The OLT also learns
the source MAC address of the
upstream frames. If a frame's
MAC address is not found in the
MAC table, the OLT broadcast it.
Downstream frames with the
VLAN tags will be discarded.

Dedicated Single
VLAN
The OLT strips the customer-
defined VLAN tag carried in the
upstream frames (if any) and
adds a network VLAN tag before
forwarding them. If the
upstream frames carry multiple
VLAN tags, the OLT removes
the outermost one.
The OLT removes the network
VLAN tag from the tagged
downstream frames and
forwards them to the
corresponding links according
to the VLAN IDs. The OLT drops
untagged downstream frames.
Dedicated Double
VLAN
The OLT preserves the
customer-defined VLAN tag
carried in the upstream frames
(if any) and adds a network
VLAN tag before forwarding
them.
The OLT removes the network
VLAN tag from the tagged
downstream frames and
forwards them to the
corresponding links according
to the VLAN IDs. The OLT drops
untagged downstream frames.
