Temperature adjustment set
The temperature for Lid, Base and Tray may need to be set at higher values than the temperature to be used
in the experiment. Required setting values can be tested with the Temperature adjustment set.
To find out the required temperatures to be set,
proceed as follows:
1.
Connect the thermolelement (Fig. 28/
1
) to the
corresponding socket of the Temperature
controller (Fig. 19/
15
).
The
Sensor
Temperature
display becomes
available in the
Temperature
expansion field in
the
Incubation
tab.
2.
Place either the 35 mm dish (Fig. 28/
2
) or the 8
well chamber (Fig. 28/
3
) into the system.
3.
Thread the wired end of the thermoelement
(Fig. 28/
1
) through the hole in the lid (Fig. 28/
4
).
4.
Close the lid and ensure that the thermoelement
wire is fed through one of the recesses in the
stage lid (Fig. 16/
2
).
5.
Set Lid temperature to 40 °C, and both Tray and
Base to 38 °C as start values to reach a sample
temperature of 3 °C.

6.
Adapt tray and base temperatures as required.
You might set CO
2
to 5%, Humidity to 90% and
O
2
to 20%.
7.
Wait until the displayed temperature readings
have stabilized.
8.
Check the
Sensor
temperature.
If the displayed
Sensor
temperature is lower or
higher then the required temperature, e. g.
37 °C, increase or decrease set temperatures of
tray and base, respectively, until the target
temperature is stably reached (Fig. 29).
For temperature control, set Lid temperature
higher than Tray or Base Temperature.
Otherwise humidity will condense on the glass
of the lid reducing humidity concentrations.
