). The other white marked end of this tubing is connected to the white labeled
gas mixer output 1 (Fig. 22/
8
).
2.
Connect the red marked tubing of the Heated Tubing Package with the red labeled Tubing connector
(output) Fig. 23/
1
). The other end of the tubing will combine with the yellow marked tubing connected
to the yellow labelled gas mixer output 2 (Fig. 22/

(Re)-Filling the Humidifying Column
Before the first use, the Humidifying Column must be filled with 130 ml of ultra-pure water. During operation,
the column should always be refilled before the water level falls below the minimum mark. For (re-)filling
proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the blue stopper (Fig. 23/
8
) from the top of the column.
2.
Use a squeeze bottle (Fig. 23/
9
) to fill the column through the filling port (Fig. 23/
7
) with ultrapure water.
The water level must be in between the minimum (Fig. 23/
5
) and maximum (Fig. 23/
6
) mark. Refilling can
be done during operation.
3.
Close the filling port (Fig. 23/
7
) with the stopper (Fig. 23/
8
).
The heating element in the column can cause serious burns. Never disassemble the column while
it is plugged into the Gas Mixer or when still hot after it has been in use.
−
Always close the filling port tightly to prevent gas leakage and malfunction of the system!
