Removing the Immersion Supply System
1.13.2.1
Removing the Immersion Container
There is an immersion container for water supply. In
order to refill or empty a container press the front
door (Fig. 13) of the system. In order to remove the
container from the system, please proceed as follows
1.
Open the front door (Fig. 13/
1
) by pressing it at
the upper part.
2.
Take out the container (Fig. 13/
2)
, remove the
hydraulic tube, and refill or empty the container.
3.
Put the container including the hydraulic tube
back into the system. Make sure the tubing is
reaching into the liquid.
4.
Close the front door.
We recommend always closing the front door to avoid dust entering the system. The front door is not
connected to the laser safe system, so it can be operated with the door open.
As the container does not contain a lid and can receive light when the door is open, there is a risk of
bacterial or algae contamination, which might lead eventually to a clogging of the tubing. Therefore,
it is recommended to clean and sterilize the bottle in operation every two weeks by rinsing it in ethanol,
autoclaving or exposure to UV light. We do not recommend to add sodium azide (0.1%) to prevent
bacterial or algae growth, as this chemical is toxic and spills might happen easily.
Take care that no liqids get inside the system. Note that the mesh is sealed at the bottom.
