Troubleshooting
Internet connection
cannot be established

Symptom
Cause
Remedy
Unable to connect
to the provider.
The product does not
recognize the broadband line.
(The LAN2 lamp does not light
up.)
Troubleshoot according to the
explanation of “The LAN2 lamp does
not light up.” (page 168).
The user ID or password is
not correct.
• Refer to the setup document supplied
by the provider, and enter the required
information correctly.
The homepage is
not displayed or
the display speed
is slow.
The DNS server address
specified by the provider is
not correct.
• Check whether the DNS server
address is specified in the provider
connection setting.
• Enter the IP address of the product
in the DNS server address setting of
each PC, and restart the PC.
• The Web server or DNS server may
be overloaded or suspended. Re-
attempt access after a while.
The filtering function of the
product is enabled.
• Check whether complicated policy
filters are applied (page 80) or
whether unnecessary policies are
applied, and if necessary, make
modifications to the application of
the policies.
• Check whether inbound filters (page
77) and policy filters (page 80)
block ports for http communication or
whether URL filters (page 95) filter
websites you specified for viewing,
and if necessary, make modifications
to filter settings.
