4. Put up crane before operation
a. During the crane operation, all the tires should be completely off the ground.
b. The horizontal outrigger must depend on working conditions in the rated crane weight table to
extend out, if only extend out the lifting lateral outrigger may lead to the following dangers:
1)The force of weight through the rope passes to the main crane boom, auxiliary arm and other
parts, and if the sudden unloading or wire rope fracture happen, the force plus on the crane arm head
suddenly released will cause the crane rearward tilting;
2)Turning the heavy weight to the outrigger not fully extended side leads to crane overturning;
3)Rearward tilting due to the crane arm and counterweight actions.
●
The horizontal outrigger must extend to the specified value in rated crane weight table
that can just surpport the crane;
●
After the horizontal outrigger stretched out, it must be locked with pin, that is, the outrigger pin
must be fully inserted to prevent the outriggers retracting and causing tilting;
4-3-2 Obstacles around crane
Crane operation should consider obstacles around it, such as nearby buildings, other cranes, vehicles or
loading and unloading of vessels, ongoing stacking goods and public traf

One should not neglect risks of facilities to or from the underground such as gas pipeline or cable.
Measures should be taken to make the crane avoid any underground facilities, if not, protection steps should
be taken to underground facilities and prevent accidents happening.
Crane or its lifting load pass through the obstacles place, one should observe the following conditions:
a. When the field conditions permits, the crane machine running route should be clearly marked to
make it away from the obstacle. There is adequate clearance between any components of the crane machine
and the obstacles. If unable to reach the required clearance requirements, effective measures should be taken
to prevent any risks of barrier or being jammed.
b. The place where periodically stacking the crane machine accessories goods should be long-term
marked its boundary line on the ground.
1. Overhead wire and cable
