10-4 Outrigger system operation
10-4-1 Operating precautions
1. Ensure that there is enough space for completely unfolding the crane outrigger
Automobile crane in work should be placed in a much widen place, prevent the outrigger touching
the barrier when outrigger unfolding or moving, and after the outrigger fully unfolding, will the upper
crane operations do so as to be able to successfully complete the heavy lifting work. The outrigger
longitudinal span is 8.075m, and the outrigger lateral span with full stretching is 7.9m. When operating,
must use the corresponding crane performance table;
2. Supporting ground selection
a. The crane should in principle be with a horizontal state located on the
fl
at and solid ground, and
when in case the outrigger must be mounted on a soft or sloping ground, it must level no matter what
supporting ground conditions; The whole machine inclination should be in the range of
≤
1%, or you
must pad steel plate or stow-wood into the bottom of the outrigger plate, otherwise there is the danger
of turning over.
b. When factors of reducing the ground stability appear, must immediately put down the weight
and retract the crane boom, and after removing factors, support the crane again out according to
request. Factors of reducing stability include: rain, snow or other water sources leading to the ground
conditions change; the ground of supporting outrigger side sinks; supporting outrigger oil cylinder
leaks.
Prohibit supporting blocks placed on the cave; prohibit supporting block deformation ( not
flat ); select the appropriate supporting mode, prohibit supporting on the slope, and prohibit
mounting the crane on the condition of the horizontal outrigger not fully extending.
3. Outrigger supporting on special ground
When the crane working position located at the riverside and the road shoulder edge place, one
need pay special attention. Due to the loose soil of the riverside and the road shoulder edge, it is most
dangerous for the crane outrigger. When operating in these situations, firstly lay several supporting
reinforcement stakes near the foundation of the crane outrigger, then properly back
fi
ll rough stones or
rubbles to enlarge the supporting area, if necessary, can pave sleepers.
4. Load of supporting ground
The crane must be supported on solid ground, and the supporting ground loading capacity should
be checked before the crane operating.
5. Check hydraulic cylinder oil level
Before preparing for the crane operation,
fi
rstly check the hydraulic oil level, if the oil level is below the
required level
,
one should in time supplement oil to the speci
fi
ed level. Oil supplement method: open plane air
cleaner cover on cylinder, add hydraulic oil of same brands through the air cleaner.
6. Check the cut-off valve status
Check the cut-off ball valve on the suction line between the fuel tank and the pump is in the OFF
or the through-flow state. The cut-off ball valve must be in through-flow state before the hydraulic
system works, through-
fl
ow state is shown in Figure 10-9a, and OFF state in Figure 10 -9b.
