Chapter 8  The components and functions of upper crane portion

8-1 General overview

XCT80 truck crane mainly consists of 

fi

ve major components including a lifting device, a safety 

device, an upper crane portion control room, and slewing bearing system, hydraulic system and electric 

system.

8-1-1 Lifting device

8-1-2 Safety device

8-1-3 Upper crane portion control room and rotary bearing system

8-1-4 Upper crane hydraulic system

The lifting device is composed of a Main boom, a Main boom telescopic mechanism, an auxiliary 

arm, a luf

fi

ng mechanism, a main lifting mechanism, an auxiliary lifting mechanism, a main hook, an 

auxiliary hook, a balance weight and other components.

The  safety  device  includes  an  over  winding  protection  mechanism,  a  three-coil  over  releasing 

protection  mechanism,  a  force  limiter,  a  turntable  lock,  a  balance  valve,  a  hydraulic  lock,  a  level 

instrument and other parts.

The Upper crane portion control room and rotary bearing system are composed of an upper crane 

portion control room, a slewing bearing, turntable, a rotary motor, a reducer and other components.

The upper crane portion hydraulic system is composed of an upper crane portion multi-way valve 

and slewing, stretching, luf

fi

ng, lifting and other oil circuits.

8-1-5 Upper crane portion electric system

The  electrical  system  of  the  upper  crane  portion  is  mainly  composed  by  the  engine,  the  lighting 

electrical systems, and a variety of intelligent control devices.
