Chapter 12 Crane inspection and maintenance
12-1 Overview
12-2 Inspection items
The crane has been tested and checked according to relevant standards prior to delivery, but
deviation may occur in the use process due to the main reasons that wear, corrosion and environmental
changes, external force damages and changes in use conditions. Therefore, the crane should be at least
annually checked by experienced professional and technical personnel based on the using condition
changes and work environment changes since crane delivery date. Speci
fi
c references are GB/T 3811,
GB/T 6068 standards. If the p roducts are exported to other countries or regions, it should comply
with the local related standards.
The experienced professional and technical personnel, with rich experience and professional
knowledge in the hoisting equipment maintenance, should pass professional training and have been
engaged in the crane professional work for a long time, they should be familiar with the relevant
standards and regulations, and can make the right judgment to the use of crane.
Professional engineers are experienced personnel engaged in the crane design, manufacturing
and maintenance aspects, and they should be familiar with relevant standards and regulations. For the
inspection of the crane, they are able to judge whether the crane is working in a safe state, so as to
ensure the safety operation of crane for a long time.
Crane reinspection is usually visual inspection by professional engineer/professional and technical
personnel to inspect the use condition of the crane and parts. This kind of inspection can timely
fi
nd out
crane safe hidden trouble, so as to avoid accidents.
Here's a list of some important check items, which must be carried out by professional engineers/
professional technical personnel.
Please pay special attention to the inspection to following various parts:
a. Outrigger structure;
b. Lifting mechanism: slewing, boom luf
fi
ng, boom telescoping, as well as lifting mechanisms;
c. Brake mechanisms;
d. Electrical system;
e. Safety device.
If the crane has undergone significant transformation, or after maintenance of the part
bearing dynamic load, it must be approved by company professional before delivery, otherwise
the caused accident liability by this shall be borne by you.
