Replacing individual pump tubes
Proceed as follows if a pump tube is damaged or blocked:
11
Connect the pump tubes to the PTFE tubes, using the flow
chart and tube labels as a guide.
12
Switch on the pump.
13
Check that the solutions are being pumped correctly.
14
Check the connections for leakage.
1
Identify the pump tube to be replaced.
2
Switch off the pump.
3
Detach the PTFE tube (1) from the pump tube (4). Make sure
that the marker sleeve (2) is secure. If necessary, plug the end
of the PTFE tube to prevent fluid from flowing into the analyzer.
4
Pull the pump tube (4) out slightly and sever it behind the collar
(3) with a sharp knife or pliers.
5
Switch on the pump.
6
While the pump is rotating, pull the other end of the tube out
through the pump head and withdraw it.
7
Repeat the procedure for all the tubes that need replacing.
1
Have a tube with the correct diameter ready.
2
Switch on the pump.
3
Feed the end of the new pump tube into the hole in the retaining
plate.
4
Let the pump tube be pulled in through the pump head until the
collar hits the retaining plate.
5
Connect the PTFE tube to the pump tube (outlet first). Ensure
that the marking sleeve is correctly positioned.
