3.4.5
Connecting the outlet
Analyzer waste fluid contains excess reaction liquid, sample and gas.
The outlet opening must be connected to an open, pressure-free
drain. Because the waste fluid contains acidic sodium persulfate, ap-
propriate safety precautions must be taken. Brass and copper materi-
als may not be used.
Warning
The solution flowing out of the outlet contains acid and oxidizing sub-
stances. The solution causes severe injury to eyes and skin upon con-
tact. Avoid any direct contact with the draining solution. Wear suitable
protective gloves and goggles.

3.4.6
Connecting the reagent solution
Warning
The oxidation reagent contains sodium persulfate. The reagent is cor-
rosive and irritates skin and eyes. Avoid any contact when handling the
reagent. Wear suitable protective gloves and goggles.
Prepare the reagent in a suitable container as described in section
3.2 P
REPARING
SOLUTIONS
. The container should be large enough for
the analyzer to run unattended for some time. The analyzer typically
consumes 1 ml/min, yielding a daily requirement of approx. 1.5 l. The
reagent must be replenished at regular intervals.
Connecting the reagent
inlet
1
Connect a tube (not included in the scope of delivery) to the
drainage opening of the analyzer (Connection D, Figure 3-3).
2
Lay the tube into an open drain.
1
Place one end of the reagent induction tube into the container
holding the reagent.
2
Connect the tube to the analyzer (Connection G, Figure 3-3).
