1. Do not leave anyone in charge of the pres-
sure cooker who has not familiarised him-
self/herself with the instructions for use
beforehand.
2. Keep out of the reach of children during
use.
3. Never use the pressure cooker in the oven.
High temperatures can damage the handle,
valves and safety mechanisms.
The pressure cooker should only be used
for its intended purpose, which is cook-
ing food.
4. Move the pressure cooker very carefully
when it is under pressure. Do not touch the
hot surfaces. Use the handle and buttons. If
necessary, use gloves.
5. Only use the pressure cooker for normal,
proper household use.
6. This appliance cooks food under pressure.
Inappropriate use can result in burns. Make
sure that the appliance is properly closed
before you heat it up. For more informa-
tion, see the operating instructions.
7. Never use force to open the pressure cook-
er. Before opening it, make sure that the
internal pressure has completely reduced
by checking that the boil indicator has de-
scended fully into the handle. Please note
that you must not touch the boil indicator.
8.
Never heat up the pressure cooker wi-
thout first adding water; this would
cause serious damage. Minimum: 1/4 l
water.
Important note: Make sure that the liquid
never completely evaporates. This can burn
the contents and damage the cooker by
melting the synthetic parts. If this should
happen, turn off the heat source and do
not move the cooker until it has cooled
down completely.
9. Never fill the pressure cooker to more than
2/3 of its holding capacity. If you are cook-
ing food that expands, such as rice or dried
vegetables, do not fill the pressure cooker
to more than half its holding capacity and
refer to any supplementary guidelines pro-
vided by the manufacturer of your pressure
cooker. (See also 3.2. Liquid volumes).
10. Never leave the pressure cooker unattend-
ed. Regulate the power setting so that the
cooking indicator does not rise above the
orange cooking ring. If you do not turn
down the power setting, steam escapes via
the valve. Cooking times change and loss of
liquid can result in functional impairment.
11. Only use the types of heat source that
are listed in the operating instructions. If
you are cooking with gas, make sure that
the flame is not wider than the bottom of
the cooker in order to avoid energy loss-
es, overheating and damage to the handle.
Do not use the pressure cooker on an open
fire.
12. If you are cooking meat with its skin (for
example ox tongue) that can swell under
pressure, do not pierce the meat while the
skin is swollen to avoid burning yourself.
13. Shake the pressure cooker thoroughly each
time before you open it, to prevent steam
