38 EX1200A Series Preparation for Use
Rack Ears, Dual Half Rack Width Option (P/N: 70-0373-102)
The rackmount installation option includes all the parts necessary to mount an EX1202A system
to the front of a standard test rack.

Assembly Procedure
1) Place the chassis on a protected work surface with its input connectors facing front.
2) Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, install the rack ears (P/N: 41-0482-009) on the front of the
EX1202As using five (5) 6-
32 x 3/8” flat head Phillips stainless steel screws (P/N: 37
-0114-
025) for each rack ear. One ear should be installed on the left side of one chassis, while the
other ear is installed on the right side of the other chassis. Note that the “Optional Mounting
Locations” in
Figure 2-5 allow the EX1202A to be installed in a rack either flush or recessed.
3) Install the front mating bracket (P/N: 41-0493-006) on the right EX1202A using three (3) 6-
32 x 3/8” flat head Phillips stainless steel screws (P/N: 37
-0114-025).
4) Install the rear mating bracket (P/N: 41-0493-007) on the right EX1202A using two (2) 4-40 x
0.187 pan head Phillips screws (P/N: 37-0011-018).
5) Connect the two EX1202As by installing two (2) 4-
40 x 3/8” flat head stainless steel Phillips
screws (P/N: 37-0100-037) through the right EX1202A capture the front mounting bracket.
Then, use two (2) 4-40 x 0.187 pan head Phillips screws (P/N: 37-0011-018) to connect the
rear mating bracket to the right EX1202A.
6) Place the EX1202A in the desired rack slot and secure the front rack ears with hardware
provided with the rack.
