Scan Delay
: Indicates the minimum time to complete each scan step. For instance, if this is
set to 1.0 and a scan step completes in only 0.75 seconds, the scanner waits another 0.25
seconds before advancing to the next step.
Abort
: This button causes advancement of the current scanlist to be stopped, allowing
configuration to be changed or a new scanlist to be defined.
Send Software Trigger
: This button sends a software trigger signal to the device. If
Software
is the selected
Scan Trigger
or
Step Trigger
, this will cause the device to begin the
next scan-step or scanlist iteration, respectively.
Results Field
Below the scanner configuration fields, a
Results
field is provided that is populated with data this
is collected during the sweep steps of the scanlist. The table consists of the following data fields:
Time
: Indicates the IEEE 1588 time of the measurement.
Channel
: Indicates the switch channel on which the measurement was taken.
Value
: Indicates the data that was measured.
Units
: Indicates the engineering units of the measurement data.
To the right of the
Results Field
are options that affect when data is displayed and what is done
with the data once the scan is complete.
Get Continuous
: When enabled, all available data is pulled into the table as soon as possible.
This also disables the
Get
and
Get All
options.
Get
button: When clicked, measurement data is immediately pulled from the FIFO memory.
Get Continuous
must be
OFF
in order for this option to be available.

Get All
: When
Get All
is selected, clicking the
Get
button causes all of the currently
available data to be retrieved from memory.
Get Count
field: Indicates the number of data points that will be returned when the
Get
button is clicked.
FIFO Count
field: Indicates the number of data points available in the FIFO memory.
Clear Table
button: When clicked, all of the data currently in the table is erased.
Clear FIFO
button: When clicked, any data points currently stored in the FIFO memory will
be erased.
Save Data
button: When clicked, the data in the table can be saved. A .csv (comma separated
value) file is generated by default. This format is readable by most spreadsheet programs.

Each plug-in instrument, such as the EX1200-3608, has a unique, onboard soft front panel. From
the soft front panel, the user can access the instruments functionality and configure it for use. For
more information on
instrument soft front panels, refer to the instrument’s user’s manual.

Each switch card has its own, unique soft front panel which paths to be defined, relays to be
opened and closed relays, and for user defined states to be created which can be recalled for later
use.
Monitor and Control Tab
By default, the SFP opens to the
Monitor and Control
view. From this view, the user can see the
logical diagram for the selected plug-in module. To control a switch, for example, simply click on
the pin that needs to be activated to cause the internal relay to actuate and connect to the pin
indicated. Horizontal and vertical scroll bars allow the user to navigate larger diagrams by
scrolling. The user may also change the magnification of the schematic. Near the upper right
corner of the web page is a size selection menu. By clicking on either the up or down arrow, the
