EX1200A Web Page Operation
Digits
: Indicates the number of significant digits that will be used when measurements are
taken. Note that this property and
Aperture Time
are interrelated hardware settings. Thus,
changing one affects the other.
Optional Settings
Some functions require optional settings. These settings are displayed only if a function requiring
them is selected. Otherwise, this space is left blank.
These options apply only to ac and dc current measurements.
o
Minimum
: Specifies the minimum expected frequency.
o
Maximum
: Specifies the maximum expected frequency.
These options apply only to frequency and period measurements.
o
Voltage Range
: select the voltage range that will be used when the frequency/period
measurement will be made. Same options apply as for the DCV and ACV modes above.
These options apply only to temperature measurements.
o
When
Thermocouple
is selected as the transducer, the following options are available:
TC Type
: Select the TC that will be used during the measurement. Select from
Type B
,
Type E
,
Type J
,
Type K
(default),
Type N
,
Type R
,
Type S
, or
Type T
.
Reference Junction
: Determines whether the reference junction is
Fixed
(default) or
External
.
Fixed Reference Junction
: If
Fixed
is selected above, enter the temperature of this
reference junction here.
o
When
Thermistor
is selected as the transducer, the following options are available:
R
: Indicates the resistance value for the thermistor. Select from
2252
Ω
,
5 k
Ω
,
10 k
Ω
(default), and
User Resistance
.
A
,
B
, and
C
: If
User Resistance
is selected for
R
, the user must provide the
Steinhart-Hart equation coefficients for the thermistor.
Is Reference Junction
check box: When checked, this indicates that the thermistor
is being used as a reference junction.
o
When
2/3/4W RTD
is selected as the transducer, the following options are available:
Type
: Indicates the RTD type that will be used for measurement. Select from
PT100
(default),
D100
,
F100
,
PT385
,
PT3916
,
User
.
R
,
A
,
B
, and
Δ
: If User is selected for Type, the user must provide the Callendar-
Van Dusen equation coefficients for the RTD.
Is
Reference Junction
check box: When checked, this indicates that the RTD is
being used as a reference junction.
Trigger Settings
In the
Trigger Settings
field, the user can change the setting that control the triggering capabilities
of the DMM.
Trigger Input
: Each time a trigger input event occurs, the DMM enters the Sample Trigger
layer.
o
Source
: Indicates the event type that will cause a trigger input event. These include
Immediate
,
External
,
Software
,
BPL0
–
7
.
o
Route
:
This button appears when a backplane line (
BPL0
–
7
) is selected for
Source
.
Clicking this button launches a dialog box that allows the user to select an external
trigger line (
LXI0
–
7, DIO0
–
7, LAN0
–
7,
or
ALARM0
) to connect to the chosen
backplane line.
o
Slope
: For hardware trigger lines, this parameter indicates the slope of level change,
either
Rising
or
Falling
, that will cause a trigger input event. The slope parameter has not
effect when
Immediate
or
Software
is selected.
o
Count
: Indicates the number of trigger input events that will be accepted before returning
to the Idle state. Valid values are -1 and 1 to 2,147,483,647
, where “
-1
”
sets an infinite
count.
o
Auto Delay
checkbox: When enabled, the DMM delays the measurement until it detects
that its inputs have settled.
