EX1200A Series Preparation for Use
Rackmount Installation, Dual Half Rack Width Option (P/N: 70-0373-104)
The rackmount installation option includes all the parts necessary to mount an EX1202A to the
front and rear of a standard test rack.

Assembly Procedure
1)
Place the chassis on a protected work surface with its input connectors facing front.
2)
Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, install the rack ears (P/N: 41-0482-009) on the front of the
EX1202As using five (5) 6-
32 x 3/8” flat head Phillips stainless steel screws (P/N: 37
-0114-
025) for each rack ear. One ear should be installed on the left side of one chassis, while the
other ear is installed on the right side of the other chassis. Note that the “Optional Mounting
Locations” in
Figure 2-7 allow the EX1202A to be installed in a rack either flush or recessed.
3)
Next, attach a unit support bracket (P/N: 41-0482-011) to each EX1202A using two (2) 6-32 x
3/8” pan head Phillips SEMS s
crews (P/N: 37-0028-037) for each bracket (see Figure 2-7).
Note that the bracket should be installed on the same side as the rack ear installed previously.
4)
Place the rear rack support brackets (P/N: 41-0482-011) on the inside of the unit support
brackets installed in step 3 and loosely secure them using two (2) 8-
32 x 3/8” pan head
Phillips SEMS screws (P/N: 37-0073-037) and two (2) KEPS hex nuts (P/N: 37-0200-832)
per bracket. Loosely installing the hardware will allow the rear support bracket to adjust to the
proper length once installed in a rack.
5)
Install the front mating bracket (P/N: 41-0493-006) on the right side of the EX1202A where
the rackmount/support brackets installed on the left using three (3) 6-
32 x 3/8” flat head
Phillips stainless steel screws (P/N: 37-0114-025).
6)
Install the rear mating bracket (P/N: 41-0493-007) on the right side of the EX1202A where
the front mating bracket was installed previously using two (2)4-40 x 0.187 pan head Phillips
Zinc screws (P/N: 37-0011-018).
7)
Connect the two EX1202As by installing two (2) 4-
40 x 3/8” flat head stainless steel Phillips
screws (P/N: 37-0100-037) through the right EX1202A capture the front mounting bracket.
Then, use two (2) 4-40 x 0.187 pan head Phillips Zinc screws (P/N: 37-0011-018) to connect
the rear mating bracket to the right EX1202A.
8)
Place the EX1202A in the desired rack slot and secure the front rack ears with hardware
provided with the rack. Once the front bracket are secured, slide the rear support brackets so
that they can be attached to the rack as well. After securing the rear support brackets, tighten
the screws and KEPS nuts installed in step 4.
