Connecting to the Power and Telephone Lines
Remarks:
• Do not use any other than AC rated voltage (115 VAC/60 Hz, 220 VAC/50 Hz/60 Hz).
• Do not share an outlet with other electric appliances.
• Do not share a wall outlet with any machine that causes a large, instantaneous load (air-con-
ditioner, copier, etc.).
• Do not place the power cord where it will be walked on, or crushed.
• When plugging or unplugging the unit, hold the plug but not the cord.
• Be certain to connect the machine to a properly grounded wall outlet.
• The equipment shall be installed near the socket outlet and shall be accessible.
• Unplug the power cord and clean the area around the prongs of the plug and socket wall out-
let once a year or more. A fire may occur when dust lies on this area.
• Be sure to fix and plug in the power cable securely after the installation so that no one trips
over it.
Procedure:
1) Ensure that the power switch is OFF.
2) Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Be sure the outlet is rated for 115 VAC/60 Hz or 220
VAC/50 Hz/60 Hz, and that it is properly grounded, before plugging the machine in.
3) Connect the phone line cord to the LINE jack on the unit.
4) Connect the other end of the phone line cord to the modular jack on the wall.
5) Connect the phone line cord of the external telephone set (if present) to the TEL jack on the unit.
