Starting dispensing
WARNING
Risk to patient due to underdosing or overdosing of volatile an-
aesthetic
Too high delivery quantities could result in an overdose.
Too low delivery quantities could result in an underdose.
Always set the correct delivery quantity for the individual pa-
tient.
WARNING
Risk to patient due to underdosing of volatile anaesthetic
If the fresh gas flow in the anaesthesia workstation exceeds the
range specified for the vaporizer, the precision in dispensing the vol-
atile anaesthetic agent will be limited.
Ensure that the fresh gas flow in the anaesthesia workstation
is not higher than 15 L/min.
WARNING
Risk to patient due to underdosing of volatile anaesthetic
If the fresh gas flow in the anaesthesia workstation falls below the
range specified for the vaporizer, no volatile anaesthetic agent will
be dispensed.
Ensure that the fresh gas flow in the anaesthesia workstation
is higher than 0.2 L/min.
In order to start dispensing Desflurane, the vaporizer must be mechanically locked on the
anaesthesia workstation and must not be blocked by another vaporizer through the inter-
lock system. If the vaporizer is not mechanically locked on the connector panel of the an-
aesthesia workstation, or if it is blocked by the interlock system from dispensing Desflu-
rane, this will be displayed by the corresponding symbol on the main section of the screen.
