12 Shipping a vaporizer
The vaporizer may be shipped to the manufacturer, or to a manufacturer-authorized ser-
vice organization, for servicing or for disposal at the end of its service life.
WARNING Risk to persons due to danger of infection
The vaporizer may be contaminated by pathogens.
Clean the vaporizer before shipment as described in chap-
ter 9.
WARNING Risk to persons from volatile anaesthetic in the vaporizer
Volatile anaesthetic may leak from the vaporizer and contaminate
the environment.
Empty the vaporizer before shipment, as described in chap-
ter 10.
A Clean the vaporizer.
B Empty the reservoir.
C Ensure that the charge level of the emergency battery is less than 30%.
D Use the original packaging materials to pack the vaporizer.
If the original packaging materials are not available, they can be ordered from the man-
ufacturer or from a manufacturer-authorized service organization.
