10 Emptying the vaporizer
WARNING Risk of harm to persons and damage to the device from incor-
rect emptying.
The vaporizer must only be emptied by personnel in accord-
ance with chapter 1.3.3.
CAUTION Risk to persons from contamination of the environment with
volatile anaesthetic.
Avoid spilling liquid volatile anaesthetic.
Never press down manually on the filling valve under the
cover flap of the fill opening.
Ensure proper ventilation of the premises while emptying.
CAUTION Risk to persons from incorrect handling, storage and disposal
of the volatile anaesthetic.
Emptied anaesthetic agent must be handled, stored, and dis-
posed of as a medication, in accordance with hospital policies
and the statutory regulations of the respective country.
Prerequisite: The vaporizer is turned off and disconnected from the mains power sup-
ply. The vaporizer is not connected to an anaesthesia workstation.
A Allow the vaporizer to cool to room temperature.
B Unscrew the cap of an empty Desflurane anaesthetic bottle (Piramal Fill filling system).
