E Connect the power cable to the mains power supply, making sure that the power plug is
accessible at all times.
► The status LED on the front side of the vaporizer will light up green.

5.3 Connecting to an anaesthesia workstation
WARNING Risk to patient from overdose or mixing of anaesthetic agents if
multiple vaporizers are connected to an anaesthesia work-
station
Make sure that the interlock system for the vaporizer and an-
aesthesia workstation is operating correctly.
When using the SmartVap S at an anaesthesia workstation
with a connector panel for three vaporizers, the middle posi-
tion on the connector panel must always be occupied by a va-
porizer in order to ensure that the interlock system is opera-
tive.
WARNING Risk to patient from oxygen deficiency if the vaporizer is incor-
rectly connected to the anaesthesia workstation
Connect the vaporizer as described.
The mechanical lock of a vaporizer mounted on the connector
panel of an anaesthesia workstation must always be in the
locked position.
Observe the instructions for use of the anaesthesia work-
station.
Please note: Before connecting the vaporizer, make sure that the vaporizer model and
the connector system of the anaesthesia workstation are compatible
(see chapter 3.1).
The illustrations show the connecting of a SmartVap S. The SmartVap D is connected in
the same way.
