The Model 5028

can be used for different applications. Using different
inlet configurations (PM
10
, PM
2.5
, PM
1
Inlets), several particle size
fractions can be monitored. The main application is the measurement
of PM
10
and PM
2.5
for ambient air quality monitoring and health effect
studies.
Often the most compatible way to install the Model 5028
i
at air quality
monitoring sites is to collocate the inlet at the same height as other

criteria. In addition to using the optional inlets, extending the sample
downtube length is necessary using a rigid sample tube.
The I/O expansion board provides six analog current output channels
(0-20 mA or 4-20 mA) and eight analog voltage inputs (0-10 V). The
DB25 connector on the rear panel provides the interface for these
inputs and outputs.
The 25-pin terminal board assembly is included with the optional I/
O expansion board. Refer to “
” chapter for information on attaching the cable to the
