Removing the LDA from the Pump
To remove the LDA from the front panel of the pump, use the following tools. Almost all of
these tools are provided in the Accela Pump Accessory Kit:
• 4 mm balldriver
• 2.5 mm balldriver
• 4 mm L-hex wrench
• 8 mm
×
10 mm open-ended wrench
• 5/16 in.
×
1/4 in. open-ended wrench
• Flat-blade screwdriver (not provided)

To remove the LDA from the pump
1. Turn off the power to the pump.
2. Raise the solvent filter in each bottle above the solvent level so that only the fluid in the
lines drains out. Use a beaker to collect the mobile phase contained in the lines.
3. Using an 8 mm open-ended wrench, disconnect the crossover tubing from the pulse
dampener (see
Figure 39
).
4. Using a 1/4 in. open-ended wrench, disconnect the stainless steel tubing from the outlet
module of the LDA (see
Figure 39
).
Note
There are two versions of the LDA for the Accela Pump. In the original version
of the LDA, the lower displacement chamber had an etched flow-direction arrow.
