Preparing the Pump for Operation

Using the Data System to Start and Stop the Solvent Flow

Accela Pump Hardware Manual

9. Click

(Stop) to stop the solvent flow.

10. If you opened the purge valve to let the solvent flow bypass the LC column, close the

purge valve by turning the wingnut clockwise.

Using ChromQuest to Start and Stop the Solvent Flow

You can start and stop the solvent flow by using the Direct Control area of the Instrument
Status page for the Accela Pump.

To start and stop the solvent flow by using the ChromQuest data system

1. From the Main Menu window, double-click the icon for your instrument.

The online Instrument window opens.

2. Choose

Control > Instrument Status

The Instrument Status window appears with the Accela Pump page displayed (see

Figure 31

). Use the Accela Pump page to view the pump status or to start an isocratic

solvent flow.

3. In the Flow box, type

1000

4. Type percentages for the inlet (solvent) lines through which you want to draw solvent.
