4.8.4. Dual Range Mode (DUAL)
Selecting Dual Range mode allows the
A1
and
A2
outputs to be configured with
different reporting ranges. The analyzer software calls these two ranges low and
high. The low range setting corresponds with the analog output labeled
A1
on the
Rear Panel of the instrument. The high Range Setting corresponds with the
A2
output. While the software names these two ranges low and high, they do not
have to be configured that way. For example: The low range can be set for a span
of 0-1000 ppm while the high range is set for 0-500 ppm.
In
DUAL
range mode the
RANGE
test function displayed on the front panel will
be replaced by two separate functions:
RANGE1
: The range setting for the
A1
output.
RANGE2
: The range setting for the
A2
output.
To set the ranges press following menu button sequence

limit of each
range.

When the instrument’s range mode is set to
DUAL
the concentration field in the
upper right hand corner of the display alternates between displaying the low
range value and the high range value. The concentration currently being
displayed is identified as follows: C1 = Low (or
A1
) and C2 = High (or
A2
).
NOTE
In DUAL range mode the LOW and HIGH ranges have separate slopes and offsets for computing
CO
2
concentration.
The two ranges must be independently calibrated.
