BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT

• Place the vehicle on level ground.
• Support the vehicle with a jack or wooden block.
• Remove the front wheel. (

• Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts

 and brake pad

mounting pins

NOTE:
Before installing the brake pads, inspect the pad mounting pins
for wear. If excessive wear is found, replace the pad mounting
pins with new ones.

• Remove the brake pads.

• Install the brake pads.

• Apply a small quantity of THREAD LOCK SUPER “1360” to

the front brake caliper mounting bolts

• Tighten the front brake caliper mounting bolts

 to the speci-

fied torque.

Front brake caliper mounting bolt: 

26 N·m (2.6 kgf-m, 19.0 lb-ft)

• Apply THREAD LOCK “1342” to the brake pad mounting pins

torque.

17 N·m (1.7 kgf-m, 12.5 lb-ft)

NOTE:
After replacing the brake pads, pump the brake lever a few times
to check for proper brake operation and then check the brake
fluid level.

* Do not operate the brake lever during or a fter brake

pads removal.

* Replace the brake pads as a se t, otherwise braking

performance will be adversely affected.
