Prepping the Support Surface
Prepare the support surface for the enclosure installation based on the construction
material of the wall or vertical surface.
>> To prep the support surface:
1
Using the mounting holes in the back of the enclosure as a template, mark the drill
points on the support surface.
2
Do one of the following:
•
Metal
or
wood-stud (hollow)
wall – Drill pilot holes for a size appropriate to the
fastener that will be used.
•
Sheet-metal (solid)
wall – Drill and tap the wall for the size of fastener that will be
used. The screws must be long enough to pass completely through the wall material.
NOTE:
The sheet-metal wall must be a minimum of 1/8-inch thick
aluminum or steel.
•
Unistrut
wall – Drill pilot holes for the size of fastener that will be used. The fastener
scheme between the Unistrut and the wall framing members MUST be equal to
(or greater) in physical size and strength as those used to mount the enclosure.
Attaching the Enclosure to the Wall
>> To attach the enclosure to the wall:
1
Install the fasteners through the enclosure to the wall.
2
Tighten the fasteners until the enclosure is firmly attached to the wall. There should
be no movement at all when the corners of the enclosure are pulled away from the
wall.
