1-3. Notes on Service
1-3-1. Note on Replacement of Flash Memory
The flash memories (IC8 and IC9) are mounted on the AT-128 board. The program has been written into
them at the factory.
If the flash memory requires replacing, be sure to replace it with written one.
For details, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
1-3-2. Note on Replacement of EEPROM
The stored data of EEPROM on the AT-128 board is as shown below.
Ref.No.
Stored data
IC7, IC50
Reference file, Scene file and Lens file
When replacing either of the above EEPROMs, all data stored in memory will be lost. After replacing the
EEPROM, register the above files.
1-3-3. Circuit Protection Device
The CN-1930, MB-830 and PS-553 boards are provided with positive thermistors for power line to
protect circuits. This device limits a current by steeply increasing the inner resistance when the device
rises to a certain temperature due to overcurrent or high ambient temperature. If the device is activates
once, turn off the power and check an equipment concerned; camera or other equipment connected to the
LENS or REMOTE connector of the camera. After the cause is eliminated and the device cools off, turn
on the power again. If there is no trouble, the unit will operate normally. It takes about a minute for the
device to cool off after powering off the unit.

1-3-4. Power Voltage Error Detection Circuit
The PS-553 and PS-554 boards has the detection circuit of abnormal power voltage. If an abnormal
voltage is detected, the circuit will stop powering.
When the circuit stops powering by detecting an abnormal voltage, turn off the power and eliminate the
problems, and then turn on the power again.
