Positioning the sensor for exposures of the lower jaw
1.
Look through the localizer ring to check the alignment of the sensor.
The sensor must be located centrally in front of the opening in the
localizer ring.
2.
Position the sensor in the patient's mouth.
3.
Use light pressure to align the sensor so that it lies parallel with the
lower front teeth.
4.
Ask the patient to close their mouth slowly and bite down on the
sensor holder.
5.
Slide the localizer ring onto the patient’s lips.
6.
Align the cone of the X-ray tube assembly parallel to the sensor
directly on the localizer ring.
7.
Release an X-ray exposure. Refer to sections Select the exposure
parameters for the X-ray tube assembly and Releasing the
exposure. Also observe the operating instructions for the X-ray tube
assembly.
