Installation of the Loop Detector Replacement
Cards
14.1 Installing the Interface Card
The interface card can be used in a standard detector card rack.
1. Carefully insert the interface card (making sure the contacts of the rear plug
connector are not bent).
2. Check that the backplane connector is engaged and tighten the two retaining
screws.
3. Switch on the supply. This device may also be fitted whilst the power is on
– ‘Hot
Plug’.

14.2 Supply connection
The Loop Detector Replacement Card derives its power from the 24V presented by the
standard backplane. It is a requirement that the supply is suitable to power the interface
card, WiMag Access Point and any other interface cards (or devices) present on that
detector card rack.
Warning
: When replacing a loop detector card, with a WiMag Loop Detector
Replacement Card, care should be taken to ensure that the detector power supply
capacity is not exceeded.
